Crece con HOPE During National Hispanic Heritage Month  During Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, HOPE encourages everyone to take the opportunity to honor the rich and diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities.
This month is a time to reflect on the vibrant traditions, languages, and stories that have deeply enriched our society. Whether it’s through art, music, literature, cuisine, or the countless contributions to science, business, and culture, the Hispanic community continues to shape and inspire our world in remarkable ways.  As part of this observance, we encourage you to learn more about ways HOPE is supporting Hispanic residents in the Deep South. Our "Crece con HOPE" program is specifically designed to serve the financial needs of Latino residents living in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. Translated as "Grow with HOPE", this effort is grounded in our mission of creating economic opportunities for all people, regardless of their circumstance, and providing them access to high-quality financial products and services in a way that promotes dignity and respect.

Hope Policy Institute Featured on PBS Show "Origins"  Kiyadh Burt, Director of Policy at the Hope Policy Institute, sat down with PBS Origins to discuss black-owned financial institutions and their pivotal role in closing the racial wealth gap. The interview follows Black Americans' financial struggles, like discriminatory lending and housing discrimination, through history from segregation to today and how the earliest black financial institutions, like Alabama Penny Savings Bank, took charge of rebuilding Black communities.  “Black communities found ways to create mutual aid opportunities, credit unions, and cooperative efforts to make sure that, as they were locked out from mainstream financial institutions, they had the systems in place to make sure that their financial needs were met.” -Kiyadh Burt.  Watch the full PBS interview with host Harini Bhat for more insight.
